We asked Amanda...
What inspired you to pursue your current career path?
I learned throughout my experience with various types of employers that not all sizes fit! In other words, a lot of time, energy, emotion and time goes into hiring the “perfect” candidate, and the truth is people grow, change and move on! Adding a team member doesn’t have to be a full-time commitment. Not every business requires 40 hours a week for the work they need accomplished to be successful. As the manager of our own family business, I quickly learned that my many years of acquired skills and abilities fit into so many different job descriptions, and when the time came for me to find a new job, I couldn’t choose one career path to apply for. They all sounded exciting! It was then I decided my desire for variety was a perfect match to those who don’t need or want a full-time employee!
Can you describe your professional background and how it has shaped your expertise to offer such a wide variety of administrative services?
When other kids in my high school were handing in hand written assignments, I developed a passion during typing class for a clean, polished look and asked for a type writer for Christmas. From then on, I stood out with every assignment I handed in. Since then, I have always looked for better ways to stand out and stay organized and have always found myself drawn to careers that fostered those skills. From my first job as a Real Estate Law Clerk at the age of 20 which lasted nearly 20 years, I became a realtor and eventually transitioned into insurance adjusting for the next several years. By happenstance I accepted the role as Manager of my husbands’ Emergency Restoration Company and this is where I honed all of the various administrative skills that I had acquired over those years from so many exciting roles, using them to fine tune the various aspects of the business. Thanks to so many opportunities to grow through the years, I am excited to pass these skills onto my clients!
